Hold on to the memory. Save on the pages of history important moments and names. After everything till the sound and showing up the voices of alive people, till that time continuing that historical durability in the next generation.
The program of The Angels Mess contained the works of composers XX-XXI century, that ideate in its music the life way of humans. Humans outside and inside fight, role and place in a flow of historical time. Clearly described that experience using the music language.
Brass Orchestra colors deeper and deeper emphasize emotional components. Crossing in its sounds different timbres – humans voices.
Works of B. Balmazes and O. Yakovchuk describe the historical moments of the struggle of the Ukrainian people in the 21st century.
Shrine of the Fallen by Bryan Balmages, was created as a reaction to the events in 2014 Kyiv/Independence square(Maydan). The basis of the work is an old Ukrainian folk song – Plyve kacha(The duck is swimming). That song became a symbol of not pronounced grief for those people, who were gone, who died bravely fighting for the rights of humans for Independence and freedom.
Symphony №8 – Unconquered by Oleksandr Yakovchuk, written in 2016, dedicated to alive and dead guards of Ukraine(for those guards from the first moments of russian aggression – spring 2014).
His work for Big Brass Orchestra strengthens the powerful and tense sound of hard fight and tragedy that War brings. More trippoting of the heart is accompanied by vocals of mezzo-soprano with Orchestra, that symbolised the voice of Ukraine.
These days Ukrainians continue to struggle with the music of John Makay – Aurora’s awakening(the goddess of sunrise). That moment will be in a program as a kind of ray of hope and faith – it’s holding humans in the dark time of life.
Everyday – sun set, borning of new day – reideate these days as the highest value of life extension.
Symphony №5 at the end of a concert by David Maslanka. During whole life as a composer he related to the works of Bach, he was going to write his own Mess.
Plunging into the world of music by genius, Maslanka was thinking about the themes of loss, grief and transformation.
Three chorale melodies were the basis of that Symphony, despite its sound assertively and abruptly. Author makes an accent, that his work is not tragedy, that’s just the transformation process from tears to the victory of life over death.
