Salomé Gasselin is a leading artist of the new generation of viola da gamba players, bringing fresh life to this historic instrument. Winner of the Victoire de la Musique Classique in the category “Discovery of the Year — Instrumentalist,” she also holds degrees in both music and modern literature.
She performs on major international stages and collaborates with renowned ensembles including Pygmalion, Jupiter, Masques, and Le Poème Harmonique. In 2025, she founded her own ensemble, Cairn Consort, dedicated to expanding the viola da gamba’s repertoire in the spirit of the string quartet.
