Symphony-requiem for soloist, chorus and symphony Orchestra, texts by Taras Shevchenko: Righteous Soul, – composition with special sounding, because of the writing of its was at the hardest months in Maydan(Independence square, Kyiv) 2014. Opus with the dignity is continuous remarkable music series, which has monumental works of Borys Liatoshynskyi at the beginning, priceless it’s lyrical rich with works of Valentyne Sylvestrov, explosive and dramatic with – Passions for Taras by Yevgen Stankovych.
From the first tacts the symphony-requiem breaks usual hearers prejudices.
Sounds of first phrases, which allusions are guessed to Mozart’s requiem, form the feeling which saves till the end – the feeling of unitely faithful intonation, sensitive, concentrated and at the same time expressive, confessional.
Bohdana Froliak seems was writing the work in a kind of condition, which gets used to artists drawing the icons. That condition of her mood – clarification from all vanity. As a result following Taras Shevchenko – auditory opening the pain and praying, it grows between hell and heaven, truly feels catharsis.
Remembering the period of writing, Bohdana Froliak said:
– The work was created, as not like me was doing it. I have the feeling that it was that kind of occasion, when by your hand somebody is rolling…
Maybe, next to her was quite that poet, like the painful soul of Taras Hryhorovych Shevchenko.
